Dr. Tim Barter
Dr. Barter grew up in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador. After high school he attended and graduated from St. Francis Xavier University, in Nova Scotia in 1990 with a Diploma in engineering. He continued on to Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he graduated in 1994 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery and joined the military. His military career spanned 20 years and included stints in Germany working for NATO, North Carolina for advanced surgical training, and culminated with a nine month deployment to Kandahar, Afghanistan where he worked in a multinational field hospital treating wounded soldiers. Dr. Barter retired from active military service in 2010, settling in to Edmonton and has since been providing dental surgical care to Albertans throughout the province. He enjoys golf, hockey, travel and aviation. He is a Member of the Canadian Dental Association and the Alberta Dental Association & College.
Dr. Courtney Wong
Dr. Wong is originally from Toronto, Ontario. She hold an Honours Bachelor of Medical Science Degree from the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario). She moved to Alberta to attend the University of Alberta (Edmonton) where she completed a four year Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 2015. She is also a member of the Edmonton Kois Study Club and is passionate about taking continuing education courses in all phases of dentistry. Courtney practiced in Edmonton before moving to Westlock to join our Team. Courtney’s husband is also a Dentist, and in her spare time she enjoys bike riding and attending musicals. She is a Member of the Canadian Dental Association and the Alberta Dental Association & College.
Dr. Justin Highmoor
Dr. Highmoor went to dental school at the University of Manitoba, where he graduated with a DMD in 2012. After a career as a dentist with the Canadian Forces, during which he moved around Canada he settled down with his family in Alberta. Dr. Highmoor is committed to delivering the best patient experience, communicating clearly and honestly, and providing top quality dental treatments. His dental jokes may be corny, and his fashion sense is a little questionable, but the man knows teeth! He can’t wait to give you the smile you’ve always dreamed of. When he isn’t fighting the good fight against gingivitis, you’ll find Dr. Highmoor on the golf course, or at home rocking on his guitar, or boring his family with endless talk about dentistry. He is a Member of the Canadian Dental Association and the Alberta Dental Association & College.

Dr. Nicholas Teoh
Dr. Teoh earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Alberta School of Dentistry. He was born and raised in Alberta, and loves the opportunity to provide care to members of the community. For Dr. Teoh, dentistry is an exciting career because it allows him to offer a wide range of services , all of which contribute to the overall health and self-confidence of his patients. This includes learning about the many recent advances in dental technology, such as alternatives to traditional treatment and Dental Implant surgery. These advances are important to ensure state of the are dental care and increased patient comfort. Outside of the Office, Dr. Teoh helps out his community in other ways. He is involved in his church, leads youth group activities and recently returned from a mission trip to Guatemala and Papa New Guinea. “Nick” is married to his wife Courtney, who is also a Dentist, and enjoys exercising, reading, and spending time with his family and friends. He is a Member of the Canadian Dental Association and the Alberta Dental Association & College.
Dr. Zachary Teoh
Dr. Zach was born and raised in Edmonton and calls Alberta his home. He attended the University of Alberta, where he completed his undergraduate studies, followed by his degree in Dental Surgery. He is a member of the Canadian Dental Association and the Alberta Dental Association & College. Dr. Zach enjoys educating patients so that they can best care for their own dental health, but is happy to provide care across a wide range of dental services when needed. As dental knowledge and technology continue to advance, Dr. Zach remains committed to continual learning so that he can provide comfortable and excellent care for patients. When he’s not in the clinic, you might find Dr. Zach outside with his camera, or inside working with Photoshop, making stickers, and crafting. Dr. Zach’s brother and sister-in-law are also dentists, who you might see around the clinic!
Corie – Office Manager
Corie joined the Leigh Smile Center as office manager in 2008. After 11 years in the banking industry with Administration and Loans, and 15 years running her own business, her professionalism and work ethic is outstanding. Her management skills and attention to detail are what keep our Center running smoothly and efficiently. She recently completed the Alberta Dental Association + College Sterilization and Infection Control program to ensure that the Leigh Smile Center meets and exceeds the professions standards. Corie has extensive knowledge in all administration areas of the clinic to enable her to step in and complete any task at any time. Her skill set provides the organization needed to ensure patient satisfaction and the smooth running of the Center. In her spare time, Corie has been an active hockey mom for many years, and enjoys many outdoor activities such as travelling, camping and golf. She also helps her husband George run their family farm north of Westlock.
